The Remote Office · virtual office for remote teams

Your team, together — even apart.

The Remote Office is a virtual campus with proximity video and proximity chat built in. Walk around, sit at a desk, and your camera connects to whoever you're standing near — no scheduling, no meeting links, just the presence of a real office. Plus screen sharing, music in the room, and a ping pong table.

Runs in the browser. No downloads, no install.

The main lobby, as it actually looks.

Built for teams who work from everywhere — startups, agencies, and fully distributed companies.

In use today

Real teams, actually in there.

This is a normal afternoon, not a mock-up. Seven people around the table in the Olympic Room, music playing, everyone hearing each other at full volume because they’re standing in the same private area — and nobody scheduled a thing.

The Olympic Room in The Remote Office: pixel-art avatars standing around a meeting
table, with the video tiles of seven colleagues down the right-hand side and a track
playing in the room music panel.
A customer’s office, mid-afternoon. Published with everyone’s permission.
  • Everyone at the table hears everyone. Step inside the private area and the whole group is at full volume.
  • Faces on the right are only who’s near. Walk away and they drop off; walk over and they appear.
  • Music is playing in the room — in step, for everyone standing in it.
  • Nobody clicked a link. They walked over.

How it works

Three steps, and you're in the room.

01

Pick your character

Choose a pixel avatar and a camera background — blur, park, beach, lounge, or city. Your real room stays private.

02

Walk into the office

Move around a shared campus of desks and rooms, just like you would in a real workplace.

03

Talk to whoever's nearby

Video and audio connect automatically by proximity. Walk up, say hi, walk away when you're done.

Features

Everything a real office gives you. Minus the commute.

Proximity is the whole idea. Everything else is what turns a way of talking into a place to work.

🎥

Proximity video

Walk near someone and your cameras connect. No link, no invite, no waiting room — and when you walk away, it ends, the way it does in a real office.

🔊

Proximity audio

Volume fades with distance. Full volume standing together, silent across the room, so several conversations happen at once without anyone talking over anyone.

💬

Proximity chat

Type to the room you’re standing in and it appears above your head. Step into a private area and the whole group hears you — and nobody outside does.

Get actual work done

Walk out, ask, walk back.

You’re in the conference room with six people and the answer is at somebody’s desk two rooms away. So you get up, walk over, ask, and walk back — and report to the room before anyone has lost the thread.

On a call that same question is a direct message, a wait, and a meeting that moved on without you. Or it’s six people listening to one side of a conversation. The walking is not decoration: it’s what lets a conversation pause and resume instead of ending.

  • 🖥️Screen sharing — a window or your whole screen, to whoever’s nearby.
  • 🎤All-hands mic — the back row hears you as clearly as the front.
  • 🧘Focus pods — quiet desks for disappearing an hour without going offline.
  • Pop-out window — float the room above another tab.
  • 📅Calendar scheduling — invite people to a room, not a link.
  • 🗺️A campus map made for you — your rooms, your names, your logo on the wall.

The bits that make it an office

  • 🎵Room music — a shared YouTube queue, in step for everyone in the room.
  • 🏓Ping pong — a real two-player game, and people watch.
  • 🥤The fridge — pick a can, carry it, throw it at the bin. You can miss.
  • Coffee and water — on the wall, free, with a wisp of steam.
  • 🌇Rooftop terrace — open air and a bar, up from the cafeteria.
  • 👋Reactions — wave, clap or throw a 🎉 without interrupting.

Your camera, your call

  • 🖼️Backgrounds — blur, strong blur, park, beach, lounge or city.
  • 🙂Live face — your camera on your character’s head as you walk.
  • 🔒Private booth — camera and mic stop entirely; nobody can follow you in.
  • 🚫Do not disturb — cuts both directions. A wall, not a label.

Built for a company

  • 🏢Your own office — its own address, its own name on the wall.
  • 🔐Two-factor sign-in — an app or an emailed code, enforceable workspace-wide.
  • 🎟️Guests without accounts — open the door for a demo, close it after.
  • 🌐Just open a link — browser only, on Mac, Windows, Linux and Chromebooks.
